After getting past an okra related incident in his childhood… Sunday Night Dinner has rebounded with flying colors and created a gorgeous dish using the painfully lovely okra you see here. Okra, Corn and Tomato Saute… check it out.
This you call okra is called ‘quiabo’ in Brazil and is the main ingredient in some of the most traditional dishes of the Brazilian cuisine.
It is a vegetable of the everyday meal, cheap, very cheap, comfort food for millions and served in almost every house. Every family has a secret way to remove the okra’s glue. Mine: sauté it a little before cooking.
Cheers!
FP Daily is currently abandoned by Robin, so she can pursue other things, like hopscotch, or chasing her dog, or vodka drinks. I apologize. If anyone is inclined to take over the site, contact foodporndaily@gmail.com
